AgriChain Logistics: New level of product and part logistics management
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has continued the December 31, 2020 implementation of an experimental project on the implementation of electronic document circulation – electronic TNT. We offer to understand, what electronic TNT can be useful for agrarians?
Every year, agro-producers lose a lot of money through the theft of agricultural produce. The problem concerns almost everyone: Large and medium-sized companies create special units in the internal security service, and small companies cooperate with security companies, while obtaining results, but often they are economically underspent.
Field-to-warehouse or elevator transport is one of the most common risks for manufacturers because it is the transportation that works out various schemes such as loss of GPS-tracker signal or its transfer to another vehicle to avoid noticeable parking, grain shedding even from tentovannyh and sealed cars through special hatches, tire inflation or watering of grain with water and so on. All these are the variants of abuse, which are practiced in the transportation of grain and according to different estimates of losses of producers make from 5 to 15 % of the harvest.
It is also necessary to note the complicated process of planning the number of transport, optimal routes, and simple techniques both in the field and in the places of unloading – as a result of not optimal terms of harvest and excessive logistic costs.
So, in the process itself, there are a number of narrow places where the budgets of agro-producers are injected. Of course, the electronic TNT will not solve all problems, but its use on the basis of specialized solutions for agrarians will help to build a business process with maximum control. One of such solutions AgriChain Logistics is an online system for managing the logistics of products and parts, which appeared on the market in September 2020.
The main task of it-system was to solve the following problems:
Manual creation of TNT record-keeping on the field, which triggers a large number of inaccuracies and errors during the reception of products on elevators;
Lack of control over the movement of vehicles due to lack of information from the TTS from the monitoring department;
downtime of the technological process due to the untimely delivery of transport for transportation of the collected products in the field;
lack of planning of optimal routes of transportation of products from field to storage places;
“idle” tests of own and hired motor transport;
not optimal time of reception and documentation of products on elevators;
complicated document circulation on contractual work and mutual settlements with the hired carriers.
Architecture represents the interaction of the following modules:
The backend server is the heart of the system, which includes all business logic and performs synchronization processes between all modules.
It-module of interaction with sensors – responsible for reception, analysis, and conversion of telemetry data from different types of sensors.
Mobile application based on Android – responsible for creation and movement of the ETTN.
Subsystem 1C – Account module with working place of a vagal and a bookkeeping person.
It-module of analytics and reporting is developed on the basis of the BI system – Qlik Sense.
How does AgriChain Logistics work?
Everything starts in the field of record keeping, which controls the loading of products into specialized vehicles for transportation. In the mobile application, a new TNT is created, which in the future passes a number of stages in the business process, which is quite flexible for each customer. Then there is printing TNT on a portable printer on a thermotape because the paper carrier is still required for transportation. The carrier transmits the printed TNT driver of the vehicle, which contains QR codes with all the data entered in the TNT.
When the motor transport is out of the field TNT goes into the mode “Monitoring”, so automatic data exchange between the mobile application and the server is performed. This data from the server is transferred to THE WEB supplement on the desktop of the expert of the department of GPS monitoring and to subsystem 1C on the desktop of the weigher
An employee of the department of GPS monitoring performs visual control of the movement of motor transport on the map and controls movement according to the defined route, presence of a signal of GPS-tracker, parking, and easy with operative response to critical events. When a specialized vehicle arrives at the elevator, the car scans QR codes from the printed form of the TNT. In the subsystem it-module in 1C automatically opens the TNT in which the weigher gives the necessary data. After completion of work with the TNT and passing of stages “Laboratory”, “Gross”, “Tara”, “Net” the weigher closes the document, so the status of the TNT automatically changes to “Closed”.
The system was introduced in ASTARTA-Kyiv agro-industrial holding in the form of a pilot project in July-August, in September-November, the completed industrial implementation at all enterprises of the group, at the moment of writing of the material more than 15 thousand TTH passed through the mobile application AgriChain Logistics.
After implementation the following advantages were obtained:
Use of a single system for planning and control of transportation of all types of parts, all kinds of motor transport with working places of specialists;
Automation of document circulation related to transportation of parts and products;
increase of control over the process of transportation of products from field to storage places;
implementation of the electronic queue for optimization of load on elevators and reduction of downtime;
optimal use of own transport in combination with hiring;
reduce all logistical costs.
The realization of the logistics of the parts and finished products is intended to accelerate control in business processes, and make them more accurate and uninterrupted. Data transfer, automation, and robotics are already changing the agribusiness of Ukraine today, increasing its competitiveness in the world market.
